Program name: Summer Lunch Bunch
Description : Summer Lunch Bunch is a free summer food and fun program designed to assist families who have children with unmet food needs during the summer break. This eight-week program provides registered participants with a served lunch one day a week and a take-home pantry pack for the rest of the week. Programming includes educational presentations, games, crafts, physical activity and just plain old summer fun. Transportation is provided to include those who might otherwise be unable to participate. The program needs many hands at many locations to make it a success. We will be serving the following cities:

Pinckney/Hamburg area-Mondays
Hartland-Tuesdays
Fowlerville-Wednesdays
Howell-Thursdays

Several other locations TBD.
Hours of Operation: At various sites Monday through Friday 11 am - 2 pm
Eligibility Requirements: Requirements: Registration Specialists Must love people, have a friendly smile and the ability to work quickly. Ideal candidates will not be rattled by a fast pace and a long line. Tasks include signing guests in, checking registrations for future weeks and sharing information and instructions. Food Service Specialists Must love people, have a friendly smile and the ability to work quickly. Ideal candidates will not be rattled by a fast pace and a long line. Must wear a hair net and serving gloves (sorry). Must be 13 or older. Tasks include warming food and ensuring proper serving temperature, portioning food and keeping records for required reporting to funding sources. Clean Up Crew We are looking for volunteer candidates with a can-do attitude and that are not daunted by a big, fat mess. We want to leave our sites as nice as we found them. Tasks include washing dishes, sweeping, mopping and packing items up for return to home base. Fun Specialists Must love people, especially children of all ages! Playful attitude, ability to keep up with energetic kids and flexible personality are a MUST. Tasks include making the children's summer unforgettably positive, prepping and setting up children's programming materials, helping to run programming, spending one on one time with children as needed, playing and facilitating games, supervising children and promoting a safe-running program, cleaning and packing up after program and assisting in clean-up of meal sites. Pantry Crew Must have a friendly smile,and the ability to work quickly. Ideal candidates will not be rattled by a fast pace and a long line. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift boxes and bags weighing up to 25 pounds. Tasks include unpacking and setting up the food staging area, pre-packing pantry bags for guest to take as they leave, getting guest signatures to verify food delivery, sharing information as needed and re-packing food staging items into vans. Statisticians Must possess a detail-oriented mind. Summer Lunch Bunch relies on grants and donation monies from multiple sources and is responsible for reporting accurate statistics and proving good stewardship of donated monies. Accurate records and reporting are critical for our program. Our statistician will keep records before, during and after meal service that help us run a USDA compliant and efficient program. This person can work a mix of office and meal site hours. Site Captains Returning volunteers who want to take a leadership role are invited to serve as Site Captains, taking an overall leadership role at a meal location throughout the 8 weeks of summer. Volunteers can sign up for Registration AND Pantry Crew Volunteers can sign up for Food Service Specialists AND Clean Up Crew
