Girls on the RunĀ® is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Our curricula address all aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. Our 10-week character building program of experiential learning through running teaches very specific and well-defined social and personal skills. The program culminates in a non-competitive 5K event which gives the girls a chance to shine and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Our volunteers are a dynamic team dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and strengthening girls from the inside out.
Girls on the Run volunteer coaches undergo a national background check, attend a mandatory six hour training and are trained in CPR and First Aid. This opportunity is sponsored by: Girls On The Run Of Southeastern Michigan
