Cromaine District Library

The Cromaine District Library's mission is to provide the "Aha experience," the sense of discovery, the excitement of learning something new, and the Library is a gateway or portal to that experience. Discover us through our web site, www.cromaine.org
Description:
Cromaine District Library is a public library with two locations--the Village Library in the historic Hartland settlement district at 3688 N. Hartland Road, and Crossroads Branch in the Hartland Town Center at 1788 N. Old US 23, just south of M-59. We offer nearly 100,000 books, books on CD, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, music CDs, and CD-ROMs for people of all ages. Each location has free Wi-Fi inside and outside the buildings, as well as at least ten computers with access to the Internet. Our services include programs for adults, teens, and children; outreach tours, site visits, and programs; and we are your connection to library collections across the state as well as many world-class databases easy to use from home, office, or school, as well as on-site at each library location.
History:
In 1927, the first Cromaine Library was built through gifts of J.R. Crouse and Henry Tremaine. For 53 years, the two-story building served as the community's only public library. In 1980, a 9,400 square foot addition was added to the original building. In 2005, Crossroads Branch was built to expand services in a location closer to shopping and the two main routes into and through Hartland - M-59 and US-23.
